Brno Saw a Light-Painting Event
An entertaining light-painting family event took place in the park adjacent to the Brno House of Arts on 3rd May 2014, where the special light-art was taught by tutor Ondřej Chmel and photographer Jan Kunc. Around 200 participants arrived despite cold and windy weather.
Most participants brought their own cameras and tripods, they loved to meet new people and work together making the atmosphere very warm disregarding the low temperature. Making of special light effects that leave traces similar to those of a paintbrush on photographs turned into a very entertaining and interactive activity. You can see its results in our virtual gallery. Thank you all for coming. We hope that light painting will be as successful at our next stops in Hradec Králové, Olomouc and Plzeň in the coming months.

Brno will see the main events of the CZECH THE LIGHT cultural events series between 15th and 17th May. There will also be two workshops for a limited number of participants. On 16th May, you can find out how to use light design at a workshop called „Light as Dressed Darkness“ (for details see here). On 17th May, „Light Painting Basics – Luminography“ workshop will have its turn, there you will be able to learn how to adorn your photos by using the popular light paintbrushes (for details see here).
